Measuring Success: Gender Equality as a Performance Driver in Research
This policy brief underscores the critical role of gender equality in enhancing research excellence and innovation. It highlights two key messages:
(1) raising awareness among policymakers and the research community about the positive relationship between gender equality and research performance, and
(2) the necessity of systematically collecting and analysing data to measure the impact of GEPs at the institutional level.

This policy brief addresses the distinct challenges faced by smaller, younger, and geographically remote universities in achieving gender balance. Limited financial resources, geographical isolation, and cultural barriers often hinder progress.
