The University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” presented to the University of Shumen “Konstantin Preslavsky” the main benefits of participating in the ATHENA project

On December 1^st, 2022 professors from the “Management and Social Activities” department at the “Business and Management” faculty of the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” presented to their colleagues from the University of Shumen “Konstantin Preslavsky” the main benefits of participating in the ATHENA project.

The theme of the project, funded by the HORIZON 2020 program by the European Research Executive Agency (REA) of the European Commission, is “Developing regulated preconditions for equal opportunities for women and men for a career in scientific organizations”. The European scientific team engaged in the project aims to outline the perspective of a research career.

During the presentation were highlighted several main benefits for the University of Ruse from participating in the project:

• Developing and accepting the Gender Equality Plans (Plan for equal opportunities for women and men in scientific careers) which will make the University of Ruse an eligible participant in consortia, funded by HORIZON 2020;
• Training of management, academic and administrative staff in legal features of equality between men and women for a scientific career;
• Developing preconditions for including the University of Ruse in other project networks;
• Creation of a sustainable environment of the already established high culture at the University of Ruse for equal opportunities between women and men in science.
